ALUMNI OF THE YEAR

The Alumni of the Year Award is presented to two alumni who embody the spirit of St. Ignatius through their loyalty, commitment, and service to our school.

Kelly Turbin ’00

Kelly Turbin ’00 is a proud member of the Class of 2000.

He was born and raised in Marin County and graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with, both, a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.

For the past 20 years, Kelly has worked as a Structural Engineer in Marin County, with 15 of those years spent running his own company.

Kelly lives in Novato, CA with his wife, Megan, of 16 years, their two children, Annabelle (an incoming freshman at SI) and Cody (a first grader at St. Patrick's), and a Golden Retriever named Saylor.

In his free time, Kelly enjoys exploring Lake Tahoe with his family and coaching his son's baseball and football teams.

Kathryn Gianaras ’06

Kathryn Gianaras ’06 is a proud Greek San Francisco native and member of the Class of 2006.

At SI, Kathryn played volleyball, basketball, softball, and tennis; and won an award on every team she was on, including the Br. Lee Award for tennis during her senior year.

After SI, she attended UC Santa Barbara, where she immediately joined the UCSB Waterski Team. She was elected Social Officer on the leadership team during her second year and named Captain during her senior season.
After graduating, she worked as the Office Manager for UCSB Recreational Sports before moving back to San Francisco to open NOVY, a Greek restaurant in the heart of Noe Valley with her sister, Kristen McCaffery ’04, in 2015.

After 10 years of successfully running the restaurant, Kathryn joined Scale Venture Partners in Foster City as the Office Coordinator & Operations Assistant.

ALUMNI TASTING PAVILION
